Terms of Service

1. What Heron is

Heron is a personal habit-tracking tool. It helps you log daily habits and capture short-lived notes (brain dump). It is not a healthcare service, a productivity platform, or a wellness application. Nothing in Heron constitutes medical, psychological, or professional advice.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old (or have verified parental consent where required by local law) to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• One person, one account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.
• You may delete your account at any time from Settings. All associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
• Attempt to circumvent any usage limits, rate limits, or access controls.
• Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to Heron's servers without prior written consent.
• Use the service to store, transmit, or process data on behalf of third parties.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

4. Pro plan and billing

Heron offers a free tier and an optional paid Pro plan. Billing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing to Pro you agree to Stripe's terms as well as these terms.

• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued.
• We reserve the right to change Pro pricing with 30 days' notice delivered to your registered email address.

5. Your data

Your habits, logs, and brain-dump entries belong to you. We collect and process personal data solely to operate the service. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

6. Service availability

We aim for reliable uptime but make no guarantees. Heron is provided "as is." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we permanently discontinue the service we will give users at least 30 days' notice and a way to export their data.

7. Intellectual property

The Heron name, logo, mascot, and all software are the property of the Heron operator and may not be copied or used without permission. You retain ownership of all content you create in the service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Heron operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50 — whichever is greater.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
